C8 Pro 24/7 office chair successfully passed TÜV 24/7 testing
UnitedSeats is pleased to announce that the top of the range C8 Pro 24/7 office chairs, including the Synergy leather model, successfully passed BS 5459-2:2000+A2:2008. Multiple tests were conducted at the TÜV laboratories in Nuremberg, Germany. Over a four-month period, the C8 Pro 24/7 office chair met all strength, stability and safety requirements across more than 500,000 test cycles, concluding on 18 February 2026.
The 24/7 performance requirements are extremely stringent and assess critical components such as backrest recliner strength and front seat edge strength. Testing also includes seat tilt, gas lift height adjustment, 5-star base durability, control mechanisms, locking systems, forward and sideways movement, and resistance to tilting or overturning. These requirements ensure the chairs are certified for users up to 150 kg in intensive 24/7 environments. Typical applications include emergency services control rooms, surveillance rooms, air traffic control centres and rail network control rooms.

This certification complements the previously obtained DIN EN 1335-1 and DIN EN 1335-2 TÜV approvals, as well as the Crib 5 fire retardancy certification (BS 7176:2007+A1:2011) for the Synergy chair’s fabric and leather upholstery. The flammability testing was conducted at the Textile Lab in Hengelo, the Netherlands.
